Program Description:

Ovieda 1WHERE WILL YOU BE?
Surrounded by pre-Romanesque monuments, the gothic cathedral of San Salvador, and the 400-year-old University of Oviedo, discover one of the most culturally significant regions in Spain. Hike, ski, or relax on the beach just a short trip from the city center. Experience the historic architectural sites as well as the contemporary music concerts, theater, and exhibitions. Language classes take place at the Curso de Lengua y Cultura Españolas para Extranjeros (ELE) on the university campus. Immerse yourself in Spanish Ovieda 2language, culture, and history.


WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
Ideal for intermediate- and advanced-level Spanish students, this program appeals to students from many disciplines through curricula in history, literature, and art. Two summer language intensive sessions offer you the opportunity to improve your vocabulary, grammar, and conversation skills.

NEW NUTRITION SUMMER PROGRAM

Southern Oregon University offers a new summer program in Oviedo in collaboration with AHA International. Oviedo ExcursionLearn about the Mediterranean diet and the sustainability of our eating habits.  Focus on development of Spanish vocabulary relevant to health and nutrition sciences.  Gather first hand information on local eating habits and lifestyle through field trips to museums, food production facilities, working farms, and markets.
