Modern Twi: Introduction to Asante Twi (10 contact hours)
This language course will take place during the orientation at the beginning of each semester. Designed as an introduction to Ghana's most commonly spoken indigenous language, the course will integrate conversation and grammar with the goal of familiarizing students with the language and developing basic communication tools to enrich their stay in Ghana.
Ghana Today (60 contact hours)
Explore recent economic, political and social changes in Ghana as opportunities and challenges for West African development.
Development Issues in Ghana (60 contact hours)
Examine race and gender issues, communications systems and the problems of capital acquisition and investment in developing countries.
Service Learning Experience (378 contact hours)
Participate in and contribute to a community service learning project or internship in a local NGO or other suitable organization. A final written report is one requirement of this experience. Projects and internships are coordinated and supervised by on-site staff.
