Partner with AHA

Partner with AHA International to provide supportive, stimulating, and academically sound study abroad experiences for your students. With nearly fifty years providing study abroad programs, we are distinctly qualified to tailor individual partnerships to suit the unique needs of your institution.

As an AHA partner you can:

Form your own study abroad consortium

Develop a new consortium of campuses that share your institution's regional identity, philosophy, or programmatic interests. Support existing programs and create new programs that enhance your academic mission.

AHA possesses vast experience in assisting diverse academic consortia to develop operating policies and procedures. Your consortium will manage all academic aspects of overseas study, grant home-campus credit, develop curricula, and approve all host-country faculty members and selection of American professors who teach abroad. AHA will handle all the logistical and administrative work, including legal operating entities in host countries, financial and risk management, marketing and recruitment materials, and student paperwork. This partnership enables you to sustain programs over decades, to offer secure learning environments supported by local host communities, and to achieve the appropriate balance between intercultural experience and American academic expectations--all with minimal cost and risk exposure for participating campuses.

Send your students to many of our current programs

Students may be temporarily admitted to the University of Oregon as guest students allowing them to apply for financial aid and transfer UO credits back to your institution. Under certain circumstances, students may arrange for home-campus credit.
Students attending our programs benefit from the one-on-one support and advice offered by our student services coordinators. This team of skilled counselors helps students throughout the study abroad process. They give information regarding AHA programs, guide students through the application process, working closely with home universities, assist in the visa application process, complete all required paperwork, prepare students to study and live abroad, support students with any issues that arise during their stay, and provide re-entry information. Your students are supported from the moment they inquire about AHA programs to the time they return home--and beyond.

Trust that your students will receive expert support

AHA has years of experience in crisis management overseas. On-site staff members, AHA staff members in the U.S., and emergency service providers at each location work closely together to provide swift and effective support in a crisis.

Given global anxiety and the very real risks involved in sending students abroad, AHA merged with the University of Oregon in 2003. As part of the Oregon University System, AHA is part of a large tax-supported, self-insured system. Students going abroad on AHA-administered programs study at centers legally considered UO branch campuses. This arrangement offers extremely inclusive insurance coverage from a long-term provider, direct access to congressional staff members, and multiple channels of communication.

In short, AHA possesses a venerable national reputation for supporting collaborative academic alliances domestically and solid academic programs abroad. And our traditional reputation for value, security, and low risk is significantly enhanced by our alignment with the Oregon University System.
