WHERE WILL YOU BE? Experience the capital of Ghana, the country's largest city and its administrative, communications and economic center. Visit museums, nature reserves, national parks, markets and festivals, Contribute to the development of Ghana through service-learning and internship opportunities at the Aya Centre for Intercultural Awareness and Development. Immerse yourself in Ghanaian culture, language and history.
WHAT WILL YOU EXPERIENCE? Discover first-hand the complexities of ethnic, economic and gender identities related to assisting local communities to take charge of their own destinies. Participate in, contribute to and write a final report based on community service in a local Non-Governmental Organization or other community service organization.
WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? Sociology, history political science, economics and cultural studies in a highly interdisciplinary program. You are enrolled in courses at the Aya Centre designed exclusively for students on the AHA Ghana Program. Instructors are local Ghanaian professors. You will enroll in three courses in addition to supervised participation in a community service learning project/internship.
