EXPERIENCE
AHA was founded in 1957 and has been offering study abroad programs for U.S. college students since 1961.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
AHA is an academic program of the University of Oregon; all AHA academic programs are reviewed and approved by University of Oregon faculty, and designed with the active support and engagement of faculty from UO and over 20 other institutions which make up AHA’s academic consortia .

STUDENT SERVICES

Providing one-on-one attention from faculty and staff.

EXCURSIONS
AHA programs utilize the “site as the classroom”, visiting local, regional, and national sites of historic and cultural importance, engaging guest lecturers from experts in a variety of disciplines, and participating in discussions and visits with representatives from community organizations and governmental bodies as an integral part of the academic experience.

CULTURAL IMMERSION
Every program offers a variety of opportunities designed to encourage students to engage with the host culture through program elements such as home-stays, partner programs with local students, community activities, and volunteer, service-learning, or internship options.

ON-SITE STAFF
Our site directors and staff provide comprehensive orientation on arrive as well as on-going support and advising during the program for students needing assistance with academic, personal, or health and safety issues.
